3D-Album

Tired of viewing and sharing your digital or scanned photos one by one in a static form that makes it impossible to give your trip to Maui or your daughter's first birthday the special treatment it deserves? Now 3D-Album from Micro Research Institute lets you create animated Windows-based photo albums that utilize any of dozens of different 3D presentation styles, automatically segue from one snapshot to another, and can even include music, text and/or voiceover. All you need to do is point and click.

Finished albums can be copied onto CDs, uploaded to web pages, sent as email attachments, or turned into custom screensavers in which the images spin, dissolve, curl, glide, flip, float, explode and otherwise stay in constant motion. Family and friends can enjoy the show without installing any special software on their PCs.

Just select the appropriate photo folder from your image management software, drag and drop the photos to put them in the sequence you prefer, and choose the presentation style that suits the subject matter or your personal taste. There are 23 different styles on the 3D-Album software itself, plus an additional 60 designs in a free and continually expanding collection available for individual download.

The choice of interfaces included in the box ranges from an animated 3D oval frame that spins to reveal a new snapshot at every rotation, to a hot-air balloon that soars over scrolling mountains while photos appear sequentially on the balloon's surface. Photos can also be displayed on a swaying Christmas tree ornament, a series of doors that open as the viewer moves down a grand hallway, animated cubes, a rotating 3D picture rack, in a montage animation, and in a wide assortment of other settings.

Additional styles currently available on the product's website present your photos artistically floating in water, showcased Hollywood-style with a parting curtain and rolling credits, as murals on the walls of a rotating five-sided exhibit, on the sails of sailboats, on heart-shaped balloons, embedded in a kaleidoscope, with a backdrop of fireworks, and more.

Hundreds or even thousands of photos can be included in a given presentation without affecting PC performance. Photos can be displayed in the sequence prescribed by the user or in random order, with no pauses or breaks in animation when new photos are loaded. Users can adjust animation speed, photo size, background colors, textures and other features; insert photo captions or text commentary as well as pre-recorded voice narrations; and add any MP3, WMA, WAVE or MIDI files for background music.

Business users can also use 3D-Album to create presentations utilizing their company logo, product photos or other business images to entertain customers, colleagues or employees before a business meeting.

The product supports 10 languages, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
